Originally formed in 1985, and re-created in 2000, Vantage PPO is a comprehensive regional network of physicians, hospitals and ancillary providers. These physicians and providers agree to provide their services in an affordable structure, in conjunction with local health benefit plans for the people of western Pennsylvania, southwestern New York, and northeastern Ohio.
1985 - Vantage Healthcare Network creates the Horizon Health Plan PPO
1993 - Horizon Health Plan PPO is renamed the Vantage Managed Care Network PPO
1995
- Over 70,000 covered lives
- Over 2,000 physicians and other health care providers
- Over 400 employers
- 34 hospitals
- Over 150 ancillary care providers
1995 - Alliance Health Network of Erie, PA, acquires the PPO and in 1996, renames it the Alliance Health PPO.
1999 - Former providers and clients request that Vantage once again create its own PPO, and does so, creating the Vantage PPO.
